Abstract

This Act provides veterinary requirements for the trade in animals and animal products with the Member States of the European Union, veterinary requirements for the import of animals and animal products from states remaining outside of the customs territory of the European Union and for the export thereof to third countries, the grounds of and procedure for exercising veterinary supervision and carrying out veterinary checks, and the liability for violation of this Act. The Act provides for veterinary requirements for trade; veterinary requirements for import; veterinary requirements for export; veterinary supervision and veterinary checks upon trade; veterinary supervision upon intra-community transit; and veterinary checks upon import.
