Abstract

These Regulations, made under the Pesticides and Toxic Chemicals Act, 1979, provide for control of the manufacture, importation, exportation, transportation and storage, placing on the market and use of toxic chemicals, i.e. a chemical that may cause harm to human beings or animals, other than a pesticide or disinfectant. New toxic chemicals shall be registered with the Pesticides and Toxic Chemicals Control Board. No person may sell, manufacture or pack toxic chemicals except in premises registered with the Board. Licences are required for various activities involving toxic chemicals. A person aggrieved with a decision of the Board may appeal with the Minister.
