Subject Land & soil Keyword Urban land Land-use planning Authorization/permit Geographical area Asia and the Pacific, Melanesia, Oceania, Small Island Developing States, South Pacific Abstract These Regulations shall apply to all town planning areas constituted under the Act, excepting those areas in respect of which a scheme has been approved under section 24 of the Act. Subject to the subsequent provisions of these Regulations, development of any class specified in the First and Second Schedules is permitted by these Regulations and may be undertaken upon land to which these Regulations apply, without the express permission of the local authority under section 6 of the Act. Provided that the permission granted by this regulation in respect of any such class of development shall be subject to any condition or limitation imposed in the First and Second Schedules in relation to that class. The Director may issue directions restricting permitted development for which a permit is granted (reg. 8). An Order made by a local authority under section 9 of the Act shall specify the use which is required to be discontinued, or the conditions under which such use may be continued, or the steps required to be taken for the alteration or removal of the building or works, as the case may be (reg. 9).
