This Act enters into force on the date appointed by the Minister by notice in the Gazette.
Abstract

This Act lays down rules for regulate labeling, distribution, sale, advertisement and smoking of tobacco products. This Act sets forth provisions on the restrictions and prohibitions relating to sale, advertisement and promotion of tobacco products; licensing procedures for sale and distribution; controls on the content of tobacco products and emissions; areas prohibited for smoking; establishment of Healthy Lifestyles Promotion Committee and its Fund; enforcement of this Act; implementation of the Convention; and offences and penalties.
