Article 1 establishes that the data of the State Institute for Environment and Geology concerning contaminated areas are collected, processed and used to: 1) identify and assess the risk of contaminated sites with a view to public interest; 2) decide on existence of a contaminated site; 3) order or perform an emergency response, remediation, monitoring and control measures; 4) approve an recovery plan; 5) control and supervise completed work.
