Matters covered by this Law concern: registration of trade marks, including: application for registration, conditions of application, grounds for refusal of registration of a mark, registration certificate, rights conferred by registration, terms of protection of trade mark, invalidation of trade and collective mark, change in ownership of a trade mark; trade names and unfair competition, including: proper use of trade names, acts of unfair competition; trade marks registry; trade description and fraudulent marks, including standards of marks, offences related to trade marks and trade descriptions; provisions relating to powers and duties of registrar and to legal proceedings; miscellaneous provisions, including repeal of Trade marks Act (cap. 244) and Merchandise Marks Act (cap. 245).
