The Act defines: certification mark; collective mark; exclusive licence; infringing proceedings; trade; trade mark. Matters covered by this Act include: indication of geographical origin; property rights in registered marks; registration of trade mark; disqualification from registration; application and procedure for registration of mark; classification of good and services for the purposes of the registration of trade marks; assignment and transmission of trade marks; infringement of trade marks and goods in relation to packaging and labelling; provisions to implement International Conventions; offences including unauthorised use of trade marks.
