Abstract This Act, consisting of 29 articles and divided into seven Parts, provides for: defining an efficient structure for the management of disasters and emergencies, by promoting cooperation among agencies involved in disaster risk management and providing essential services; ensuring preparation and implementation of a County disaster risk management Plan and empowering authorities to act during times of disaster and emergency according to the Plan; implementing mechanisms to reduce risks and hazards exacerbating disaster or emergency situation in the County; facilitating procedures aimed at implementing recovery activities in the aftermath of disasters and emergencies.
