Abstract

This Law amends the Law of Protection of the Farmer Rights and Enhancement of their Benefits. The reference to Ministry of Agriculture and Irrigation is substituted by the Ministry of Agriculture, Livestock and Irrigation. The amendment adds two objectives in section 3 relating to farm-land acquisition and protection land use right; and enactment of a law relating to farmers organization. A new section 4-A is added and section 5 relating to duties and functions of the Leading Body is amended. Further, sections 6, 7, 8, 9, 11, 14, 16, 20, 23, 25, 27 and 29 are amended as well. A new section 27-A requiring submission of operational report is inserted.
