The Regulations specify: content of the application, including: place of business of the applicant and registered address, the geographical area to which the geographical indication relates with related maps, quality, reputation or other characteristics of the good in relation to which the geographical indication is used; description of the goods; examination of the application by the competent authority; objection to registration of geographical indications; publication of lists of geographical indications in the annual journal; payment of fees.
