Abstract

This Order, made by the Water resources Authority in exercise of the powers conferred by Section 22 of the Water Act, no. 43 of 2016, provides for declaring The Kajulu Hills Catchment Area, with its water resources, as a protected area and therefore apply to the National Government, national government entities, County Governments, county government entities and any other person being a user of water resources and the riparian reserve of the declared protected area. The Order defines: water resources users association registered by the Authority; the feeder rivers flowing into Lake Victoria; the boundaries of the protected area; the management and conservation plan developed by the Authority in respect of the protected area; the riparian reserve; soil and water conservation plan; offences and penalties.
