The Notice provides for: application for registration as a butcher or assistant butcher and related approval or refusal by the Committee; imposition of fees and duties; control and inspection of slaughter house; days and hours of opening; notification concerning description and number of animals to be slaughtered; register of slaughtered animals; examination and health certificate of butchers; certification issued by a veterinary officer stating that the animal is fit for consumption and circumstances under which the certificate cannot be issued; provisions concerning cleanliness and order inside the slaughterhouse; provisions concerning respect of animals to be slaughtered and prohibition of unnecessary pain; stunning procedure and methods; sanitation procedures and inspection of meat; offences and penalties.
