Abstract

This Fisheries (Amendment) Law amends the Fisheries Act 1935, that is the basic Law. The amendment moves from the consideration that the outbreak of Covid-19 pandemic has created serious problems in the sector of public health, economy and specifically impacts on professional small-vessel inshore fishermen and therefore it appears necessary to take extraordinary measures for the purposes of supporting the fishermen to facilitating the continuation of their profession. The provisions of article 13A added by the amendment of 2019, concerning fishing licenses and specific requirements related to, are suspended until December 31, 2023.
