This Resolution enters into force on the date of its publication in the Official Gazette.
Abstract

This Resolution consisting of 10 articles aims at amending the Executive Regulations on Biodiversity of Kuwait, the main of which are (i) under article 2 is now permitted the use of the net called qaraqir, only the environmentally friendly kind. Other amendments in Article 2 regard the use of GPS and fishing permits; (ii) in Article 3 are added paragraphs that strictly ban the introduction of alien species and GMOs in the environment of Kuwait; (iii) under Article 5 becomes prohibited commercial fisheries within 3 miles of the coast, while it is permitted amateur fishing in Kuwait Bay after obtaining a permit.
