This Act provides for protection of consumers interest and mechanisms for redressal of their disputes. This Act consists of 107 sections across eight chapters: I. Preliminary; II. Consumer Protection Councils; III. Central Consumer Protection Authority; IV. Consumer Disputes Redressal Commission; V. Mediation; VI. Product Liability; VII. Offences and Penalties; and VIII. Miscellaneous.
