Abstract This Act, which is composed of 37 articles, defines the tasks and organization of the Central Animals Asylum, as well as the rules for admitting animals to the Central Asylum and handling them. The Central Asylum is a temporary detention center for live animals belonging to: (1) invasive alien species; (2) CITES species; (3) dangerous species; (4) protected species. It is possible to temporarily keep in the Central Asylum also live animals of alien species, species of wild animals that are not CITES species for which separate veterinary regulations provide for the prohibition or restriction of import, transit or trade, and animals obtained as a result of crossing.
