Main tasks of the Department of Irrigation and Small Scale Hydropower are: to study and implement strategies and policies, to establish rational watershed development structures based on existing both surface and underground natural streams, to survey and determine areas for irrigation and small scale hydropower in accordance with the potentials of each area or region, to use foreign and international funds to develop the effectiveness of irrigation and small hydropower as established by the Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry.
