Abstract

These Regulations, made under the Tanzania Food, Drugs and Cosmetics Act, 2003, provide rules with respect to " fond promotion", which means any method of introducing, familiarizing or encouraging a person to use a particular food product. A person shall not promote a food product in a false or misleading way. Use of promotional material requires a permit of the Tanzania Food, Drugs Authority. The Regulations provide various rules and standards for nutritional claims regarding food and also concern advertisement of special food and baby food.
