The functions of the Centre shall be to plan and initiate food and nutrition programs, to carry out research in matters relating to food and nutrition, to stimulate and promote an awareness of the importance of a balanced diet, etc. (art. 4). The management and control of the Centre shall be vested in the Governing Board (arts. 5 to 7). The Minister shall appoint a Director of the Centre and the Governing Board shall appoint the administrative, professional and technical staff. The Governing Board shall manage the assets and properties of the Centre (arts. 11 and 12) and shall submit to the Minster annual budgets, any supplementary budgets and a report of the activities of the Centre. The Governing Board may make regulations for the better carrying out of the procedures of this Act. Attached to the Act is a Schedule on "Appointing authority". Full text English
