Abstract

This Act of the County Assembly of Tana River County provides with respect to licences to conduct a business within the County. A trading licence shall not be required for, amongst other things, the trade of a planter, farmer, gardener, dairy person or agriculturist in respect of the sale of his or her own dairy or agricultural produce the trade carried on in any market established under the Markets Act. There is established by the County Executive Committee member a Directorate of Trade and Markets under the department responsible for Trade. The County Executive Committee member may declare specified areas to be trading centres and particular goods or goods of any particular class to be specified goods for the purposes of this Act. Trade in specific goods or outside general business areas require specific authorization. Specific provisions are made for the licensing of hawkers and travelling wholesale traders.
