Abstract

This Act states that no person can keep any animals or birds in urban areas without a license granted as per the provisions of this Act. The Act also provides the State government the power to appoint Inspectors and Licensing Officers who shall have the authority to inspect any stable, shed or any other premises to search for animals or birds kept without license. Additionally, the Act mentions the penalties for violating the provisions of the Act. Animal list is appended to the text specifying involved animals: 1. Cattle; 2. Buffaloes; 3. Goats; 4. Sheep; 5. Pigs; 6. Rabbits and hares; 7. Horses, donkeys, mules and ponies; 8. Dogs and Cats other than pets; 9. Any domesticated wild animal. 1. Poultry; 2. Turkeys; 3. Pigeons; 4. Quails; 5. Any domesticated wild bird.
