Abstract By way of implementation of European Union Directives 94/35/EC and 95/31/EC, these Regulations lay down provisions applicable to sweeteners which are used (a) in the preparation of foodstuffs to impart a sweet taste to foodstuffs, or (b) as table top sweeteners. On the contrary, the Regulations shall not apply to foodstuffs with sweetening properties. Only sweeteners which are listed in the Schedule hereby attached may be placed on the market.
