Abstract

The purpose of these provisions is to create a framework through which sustainable development is to be mainstreamed across Government. Within the context of the private sector and civil society, this Act seeks to enable the raising of awareness of the principles of sustainable development, such that these may be adopted on a voluntary basis. It provides for the establishment of a competent authority as well as for the Guardian of Future Generations (art. 8).
