Abstract

This Act provides that, notwithstanding anything to the contrary in the Sugar Industry Special Funds Act it is lawful for the Committee appointed under section 8 (1) of that Act to control and administer the Sugar Industry Rehabilitation Fund to make disbursements not exceeding a total specified amount out of the Fund for purpose of making ex-gratia payments to pensions to labour workers in the sugar industry within the meaning of the mentioned Act, who at the time of retirement were not eligible to receive old age pensions under the National Insurance and Social Security (Benefit) Regulations
