Abstract

The present Regulation implements the Marketing of Agricultural Products Act. Section 3 establishes that the Sugar Beet Marketing Plan referred to in Alberta Regulation 227/90 is amended and continued with the name “Sugar Beet Marketing Plan”. One of the purposes of this Plan is to provide for the effective control and regulation, in any and all respects, of the production and marketing of sugar beets in Alberta. Section 7 rules that the Board, also known as the “Alberta Sugar Beet Growers’ Marketing Board” shall continue to operate with the name “Alberta Sugar Beet Growers”. Part 2 contains provisions on the functions and duties of the Commission and on its operations. The text consists of 46 sections divided into 3 Parts. One Schedule is enclosed.
