Abstract The present Law lays down provisions relating to the production, transfer and distribution of electricity in the Land of Styria. The aim of the Law is to make available to the people and to the industry electricity being at the same time environment-friendly, reasonable priced, sufficient, secure and of high quality; to create a market organization according to EU-guidelines and to the principles of national law; to further an even greater part of renewable energy in the sphere of electricity production; and, finally, to protect the people from harmful effects from production plants.
