Abstract

The main purpose of this regulation is to help the prevention, control and eradication of disease by giving effect to the system known as the ‘national livestock identification system’ (NLIS), agreed to by the Commonwealth and the States under a resolution of the Primary Industries Ministerial Council of 2 October 2003, by the capacity to trace livestock movements.
