Abstract

This Act makes provision for measures to prevent and fight diseases affecting stock, i.e. animals specified by this Act and any animal or bird declared by the executive member to be stock for the purposes of this Act. The executive member may also declare any disease to be a disease for the purposes of this Act and place restrictions on the importation of stock or any article that may carry a disease. Other provisions of this Act concern, among other things, notification of diseases by owners of stock, inspection and declaration of infected areas by inspectors.
