Abstract

This Law lists statutory nuisances, provides for the extension of the list of statutory nuisances by the States and provides for proceedings in respect of and abatament of such nuisances. The Minister shall have the power and the duty to take such steps as are reasonably practical to investigate a complaint of statutory nuisance made to the Minister and shall issue an Abatement Notice where such nuisance is ascertained. Statutory nuisances include any animal, bird, insect, reptile or fish kept in such a place or manner as to be prejudicial to health or a nuisance and any well, tank, cistern or other water supply which is used for the supply of water for domestic purposes and in which water may be liable to contamination prejudicial to health.
