Functions of the Board are inter alia: (a) to formulate and implement the fishing policy of the country; (b) to control the proper implementation of the national legislation on fisheries; (c) to manage and protect fishery resources; (d) to promote the development of the fishing industry; (e) to regulate the use of fishing gear and fishing methods; (f) to promote research and vocational training.
