It is scientific organization operating on the territory of the whole Slovakia, the activity of which is focused on the environmental protection, environmental policy development and landscape creation on the principles of sustainable development. SEAs operation shall be divided into following activities: (a) state of the environment evaluation and environmental regional classification; (b) environmental planning and environmental optimization; (c) environmental impact assessment (EIA); (d) landscape-ecological planning; (e) cultural landscape and natural heritage protection; (f) environmental risks and environmental safety; (g)waste management and packaging; (h) integrated prevention and pollution control; (i) system of the environmentally oriented management and audit; (j) environmental monitoring and informatics; (k) environmental education.
