Abstract This Standard has been set by Institute of Standardization and Certification under the State Committee for Standardisation, Metrology and Patent. This standard is authentic translation of Codex Stan 12 - 1981 «Revised CODEX standard for honey». This Standard was negotiated in the Technical Committee (TK 02) on Standardization of food and agricultural products. The initial inspection shall be in 2021 to determine the requirements of the standard to comply with the international standards, norms, rules and recommendations. This Standard consists of two sections. In the first section, this Standard sets forth the rules and procedures of and determine the standards for essential composition and quality factors, contaminants, hygiene, labeling and methods of sampling and analysis of honey produced by honey bees and covers all styles of honey presentations which are processed and ultimately intended for direct consumption. Second section covers honey for industrial uses or as an ingredient in other foods. Second section also covers honey which is packed for sale in bulk containers, which may be repacked into retail packs.
