Abstract

This Chapter of the Nevada Revised Statutes concerns the Office of the State Engineer under State Department of Conservation and Natural Resources of Nevada. Specifically, it provides for the appointment of the State Engineer; qualifications; oath; restrictions on other employment; location of office; seal; appointment of technical, clerical and operational staff; persons appointed to conduct snow surveys exempted from state personnel system; expenses; general duties; rules and regulations; regulations governing contests; power to administer oaths; reports; records: public inspection and certified copies as evidence; duties of Attorney General and district attorneys; duties: studies and inventories; review of governmental proposals for flood control and water development projects; program to map water rights; duties: water budget and inventory; agreements concerning use and development of water resources; agreements concerning cooperative management of groundwater basins shared between states; cooperation with United States and California relative to waters of Lake Tahoe and adjacent areas; the Adjudication Emergency Account; the Water Distribution Revolving Account; the Channel clearance, Maintenance, Restoration, Surveying and Monumenting Program; and account for the Channel Clearance, Maintenance, Restoration, Surveying and Monumenting Program.
