Abstract

This chapter of the Maine Revised Statutes adopts the Standard Sewer District Enabling Act. It provides for general provisions; governance; powers; rates and fees; and bonds, investment and debt limit. The further provides that "sewer district" means a district, including a multipurpose district and standard district, created by a private and special law of the State whose purposes include collection, interception and treatment of sewerage. Except as otherwise provided in this chapter or other applicable law, "sewer district" does not include a district whose sewerage activities are confined to interception and treatment.
