Abstract

The Act makes provision for construction and operation of sewerage systems in St. Georges. The Corporation of St. George's shall be responsible for construction and maintenance of sewerage systems in accordance with section 2. The Corporation may (compulsorily) acquire easements for purposes of section 2. Compensation shall be paid out of the consolidated Fund to entitled persons (sects. 3 to 12). St. George's Sewerage Commissioners shall, from time to time, be appointed by the Governor for the purposes of this Act (sect. 16). The Corporation may from time to time make Regulations for carrying into effect the objects of this Act (sect. 17). Section 18 formulates a duty of owners or occupiers of any house or building in the sewerage district to install house sewers and to connect them to the main system at the request of the Corporation. Section 19 requires owners or occupiers to dispose of sewage only through connecting sewer if existent. Section 21 prohibits improper use of sewers. The Corporation may issue a Notice prohibiting injurious sewage under section 23. A sewerage tax shall be levied pursuant to sections 34 and following. (39 sections and 2 Schedules)
