It shall be a teaching, research, extension and affiliating University. The objects of the University includes imparting education in different branches of Veterinary and Animal Sciences, undertaking the extension of such Sciences to the rural people, and promoting research. The Act lays down the powers and functions of the University, its Officers and Authorities. The Act provides for establishing Veterinary Sciences Experiment Stations for research, both fundamental and applied in all faculties as well as Veterinary Science Extension Service.
