Abstract

This Order is made in consequence of Article 12A of the Wildlife (Northern Ireland) Order 1985, which specifies that it is an offence to use or permit the use of, for the purpose of killing or taking animals, any spring trap other than an approved trap, to have such trap in possession or to use an approved trap for purposes other than for which it was approved. The Order specifies approved traps, namely those listed in Column 1 of Schedule 1 and others which are equivalent in all relevant respects to those so listed. Conditions attached to the approval of each type of trap are specified in Column 2 of Schedule 1.
