Abstract This Act lays down the rules for establishing and providing infrastructure for spatial information in the Republic of Slovenia. The infrastructure for spatial information shall include metadata, spatial data (any data with a direct or indirect reference to a specific location or geographical area) sets and services, network services and technologies, agreements on sharing of spatial data sets and services, access to them and their use, and mechanisms and procedures for coordination and monitoring compliance with this Act. Spatial data for which this Act shall apply shall refer to the following topics: coordinate reference systems; geographical grid systems; geographical names; administrative units; addresses; cadastral parcels; transport networks; hydrography; protected sites; digital elevation model; land cover; orthoimagery; geology; statistical units; buildings; soil; actual and planned land use; human health and safety; utility and public services; environmental monitoring facilities; production and industrial facilities; agricultural and aquaculture facilities; population distribution-demography; area management/restriction/regulation zones and reporting units; natural accidents risk zones; atmospheric conditions; meteorological geographical features; oceanographic geographical features; sea regions; bio-geographical regions; habitats and biotopes; species distribution; energy resources; mineral resources.
