Abstract

This document lays out the strategic framework to enable Somaliland achieve sustainable food and water security. The objective is to transform Somaliland into a food and water secure country by the year 2030. The goal is to improve the availability of, and access to, adequate and safe food and water in a sustainable manner, especially for rural communities and urban poor, and other vulnerable groups in the country. In order to attain these objectives, the strategy outlines different programmes and areas of intervention, including agriculture development, livestock development, fisheries development, market infrastructure, export development, nutrition and food safety, food safety nets and emergencies, income and employment generation opportunities, emergencies and disasters management, water resources and soil management, capacity building.
