Abstract The definition of "Director" is amended and the definition of "foreign maritime entity" added in section 2. The new section 20A makes provision for the appointment of a managing owner or agent of for a ship registered in Jamaica by the owner of that ship. Section 24A provides that separate registers shall be kept in the prescribed form for: ships; ships under construction; ships with a provision certificate; bareboat chartered ships; pleasure crafts; and such other categories of vessels as the Registrar-General may direct. Section 24 B defines requirements for entries in the registers. Other provisions deal with property and related rights in respect of ships, taxation, benefits, and Regulations made under the principal Act.
