A Maritime Authority is established as a body corporate under section 6. The interpretation section includes a definition of "fishing vessel". Sections 16 to 101 provide for registration of ships and, in the case of small vessels, licensing and for related matters, including survey of ships and marking. Sections 217 to 226 provide for official logbooks and ordinary ship's log. A Maritime Tribunal is constituted under section 411.
