Abstract In exercise of the powers conferred by the Section 29 of the Ship Registration Act, 2027 (1971) the Government of Nepal has made the Ship Registration Rules, 2028 (1972). These Rules, consisting of 28 sections and completed by 12 Schedules, regulate the Ship Registration in Nepal. A person or body desiring to register any ship shall submit an application to the office as prescribed in Schedule 1 and pay the fees prescribed pursuant to Schedule 2. The application to be submitted shall be submitted by signing by any representative authorized person according to the component of the vessel. The registrar shall make registration of a ship in the registration book of Nepalese ship if it deemed appropriate while making inquiry examination of the received application and documents received to register any ship. Upon registration of a ship pursuant to Sub-rule (1), A certificate registration shall be issued as prescribed in Schedule 5 against the payment of related fees.
