Abstract

The present Order restrict logging activities to certain forests and prohibit any land clearing and logging in virgin forests (that shall be vested to the national forest estate under the Integrated Protected Area System, IPAS) and in those forests complying with definite requisites (sloping, extension, historical or environmental values, contiguity to river banks or water streams, wilderness areas). Logging shall be restricted since January 1st 1992 to the residual forests only and a detailed inventory of those forests according to their age (ranging from 25 years old to 5 years old).
