In particular, the purpose of the Ordinance is to provide for the enforcement of the Council Directive 79/923/EEC on the quality required of shellfish waters of 29 October 1979. Article 3 establishes that water bodies or part of water bodies have to comply with quality requirements listed in Annex 1.
