It provides rules for composition and appointment of members and determines the powers and duties of the Board. Notably, the Board is responsible for the promotion and economic development of the sheep industry in the Commonwealth of Virginia. The Chapter also establishes a special nonreverting fund known as the Virginia Sheep Industry Promotion and Development Fund. Moneys in the Fund must be used solely for the purposes set forth in this Chapter. The Chapter also provides rules for the administration of a referendum on the continuation of the Sheep Industry Board and the levy of an assessment on a sale of sheep.
