Abstract These Regulations, made by the Minister, after consultation with the National Plant Varieties and Seeds Committee, under section 33 of the Seeds Act, apply to all seeds, with special conditions and exemptions for seeds imported for research purposes or for testing new varieties. The Regulations cover the following matters: general conditions for import of seed; declaration confirming quantity and quality of each lot; clear labelling of each lot of imported seeds; procedure for import of seed; inspection of the consignment; export of seeds and request of phytosanitary certificate; offences.
