The timeframe of this Sectoral Policy is 5 years between 2018 and 2022. The overall purposes of this Policy are to increase the quality of the dairy products, lessen the production costs, increase the export potential, support small-scale enterprises, and take market measures. This Policy lays down strategies for the development of milk production and products through efficient management and registration of ovine breeding, strengthened and collaborative producer organizations, prevention of slaughtering female sheep and goats, increase in numbers of sheep and goats, and provision of agricultural subsidies. Consumer-awareness will be raised on the importance of milk consumption for healthy nutrition, as well as, on nutrition information to make healthy choices.
