Abstract

Section 2 gives a definition of "seal". Section 3 provides for the appointment of Sea Officers for purposes of this Ordinance. No person shall kill, take, hunt or attempt to kill or take any seal in the Colony without a licence granted by an officer appointed by the Governor (sect. 5). The Governor in Council may declare Seal Reserves under section 7. Section 8 defines liability to penalty by owners or masters of vessels employed for the killing or taking of seals in the Colony. Powers of seal officers are set out in section 10. Remaining sections deal with powers of enforcement.
