They also provide for the availability of adequate facilities at ports and terminals for the reception of sewage. They give effect to Annex IV of the International Convention for the Prevention of Pollution from ships as amended by its Protocol of 1978, and as further amended by the Marine Environment Protection Committee (MEPC) of the International Maritime Organization.
