Abstract

The purpose of the present Law is to ascertain, describe and assess the impact on the environment resulting from certain public and private projects, plans and programmes and to ensure that these projects, as well as certain plans and programs for effective environmental protection, are based on uniform principles. The Law provides for defining environmental impact assessment, and paying attention to the results of the environmental assessment. The text consists of 8 articles as follows: Purpose and scope of the law (1); Definitions (2); Obligation to carry out an environmental assessment (3); Procedure, application of federal law (4); Landscape planning (5); Competent Authorities (6); Transitional Provisions (7); and Appendixes (8). The Law contains 2 Appendixes.
